The Bee Garden’s is an oil on timber slab painting. It depicts a rose lady or ‘mother nature’ cuddling a blue-banded bee; also known as Amegilla cingulata. It’s an Australian native bee that is not only a delight to find in one’s garden with its luminous blue bands, but these bees’ pollinating efforts contribute to at least 30% of crops in Australia. The flowers are a variety of bee-friendly blooms that we can plant to help look after these tiny heroes: Anemone, Buttercup, Lavender, Crocus, Snowdrop, Sweet Assylum, Zinnia, Calendula, and Fennel.
